Old Friend
Old Friend . . .
Stay for a while
Give me your smile
Please, don't go away
I need you to stay
My Old Friend . . .
Remember our past
Oh, I wish it would last
those romps in the sun
were just so much fun
With My Old Friend. . .
See how my pup, you have grown
had pups of your own
passed on a special touch
to those who owe you so much
My Old Friend . . .
Where has the time gone
For one last run.
We've said our goodbyes
It's OK to close your eyes

An Oath To An Old Friend
You ran so far but now you've stopped,
We played so long but the ball has dropped,
And old with age you ceased to bark,
But I swear this oath with all my heart,
For when I die and my spirits free,
I can only dream what Heaven will be,
But if my companion is not allowed,
I'd rather go where the dogs are found.

After We Part
Our hearts are forever linked, we are part one of the other
We bound our souls together and a journey we began
We faced the world as one as we traveled through this life
We chose our trail and then began walking hand in hand
Now I continue the journey on the path we had chosen
And as I face our path alone and you travel on ahead
I know that you are also here to guide and guard my steps
To help me to keep true to the path where once you lead
And though now there is only a single set of footprints
I do not fear for I know that I still travel on with you
I feel you as you continue to lead and guide my steps
As you continue leading me from just beyond my view

If I could speak to you from the Bridge, I would tell you not to cry.
For I am no longer in pain, it is only my body that has died.
Speak to me often and from the heart,
It will help to shorten the time that we are apart.
Remember I love you in every way,
Thank you for releasing me from my pain today.
Tuck my memory somewhere safe and warm,
for today I was again Reborn.
And when your time on Earth is finally through,
Look toward the Light I will be coming for you.

A Million Times I Will Miss You
They say memories are golden
well, maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories
I only wanted you.
A million times I will miss you,
a million times I will cry.
If love alone could have saved you,
you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
in death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no pup could ever fill.
It broke my heart to lose you,
but you did not go alone.
For part of me went with you,
the day God called you home.
Your precious memory is my keepsake,
with which I'll never part.
God has you safe in His keeping,
but I'll have you forever in my heart.
If tears could build a stairway,
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

I'm Still Here
Friend, please don't mourn for me
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.
My body is gone but I'm always near.
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.
I'll never wander out of your sight-
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach-
I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.
I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.
I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.
When you start thinking there's no one to love you,
you can talk to me through the Lord above you.
I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.
I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I'm the smile you see on a baby's face.
Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace!

Zacky, Zacky
Zacky, Zacky, why did you not tell daddy you were ill
You know that daddy would gladly pay the bill
After all we have been through both good and bad
You have always made daddy happy and never sad
Even in the back yard with your special hole
As you lie there and look deep into my soul
You lifted your head to say the time has come
And daddy must do what must be done
We made a pack, you and I, that when the time was near
That daddy would be there and the pack was clear
Because of your love no need for tears.
I was so blessed for all those many years.
I know he's watching over me
He will be with me when I cry,
So with one more kiss on his beloved head
I told my Husky Dog good bye.
You would go to the Rainbow Bridge and wait for me
And when the time is right and there, daddy will be
Now we are together forever never to part again
And if I had never known you this would never have been.
We are now a thousand winds that blow.
We are the diamonds and glints on snow.
